Check out: for more info on Drupal Behaviors. It's basically a wrapper for jQuery.ready() that uses jQuery.once(). It's good practice to use it, and it also gives you context and settings variables. Context is either the document element or, when you are in forms for example and the js is added using #attached, its the form object for instance. It's useful to optimize selectors, so you can do $('#foo', context) and you can search against the context. :)
